Macao citizens will be vaccinated against COVID-19 voluntarily and free of charge

Macao novel coronavirus Infection Response Coordination Center said on the 7th that the SAR Government is actively contacting suppliers for ordering COVID-19 vaccines, and the future vaccination of Macao citizens is voluntary and free.

The Emergency Response Coordination Center stressed that the SAR Government expects to introduce the first batch of vaccines by the end of the year, and the specific distribution still needs to be adjusted according to the supply, which will give priority to high-risk groups or people with special needs. According to the current situation in Macao, frontline anti-epidemic personnel, including medical care, fire control, police or citizens who need to travel to foreign countries, will be given priority in vaccination.

Macao plans to introduce a precise prevention and control mechanism based on zoning and grading, which has aroused widespread concern in the society. The Emergency Response Coordination Center stated that its implementation details have yet to be determined. The full communication between the SAR Government and the state in joint defense and control has enabled Macao to gradually resume normal exchanges with the mainland.
