How to Use a CHG Applicator

Step 1: Open the Pouch

Peel open the individual pouch and remove the applicator by holding the handle.

Do not touch the foam pad to help maintain appropriate aseptic technique.

Step 2: Activate the Applicator

Pull and remove the ring collar lock from the handle.

Then press down on the handle to activate the applicator and release the antiseptic solution onto the foam pad.

Make sure the foam pad is adequately wet before application.

Step 3: Apply the Antiseptic

Place the activated foam pad on the designated treatment area.

Using gentle back-and-forth strokes, evenly wet the required skin area with the antiseptic solution.
