These fibers are aligned perpendicularly, resembling the bristles of a soft brush or the “fuzz” on a tennis ball. This unique structure creates a highly absorbent surface with no internal mattress core to trap the sample.
How Do Flocked Swabs Work?
The secret to the effectiveness of a flocked swab lies in capillary action. Because the nylon fibers are standing upright and parallel to one another, they act like a sponge for liquid and cellular material.
